Financial Aid and Assistance

Thank you for choosing Metro South Medical Center (MSMC) for your healthcare needs.

If you are uninsured or under insured, financial assistance is available. As a courtesy MSMC assists uninsured and underinsured patients with accessing assistance for medical coverage that they may qualify for under the State of Illinois Medicaid, Crime Victim Advocacy and Kid Care programs.

If you are not eligible for benefits through any state funded programs, we will further review your file for the Illinois Uninsured Patient Discount or the MSMC Financial Assistance program. Simply fill out a Financial Assistance Application and return it our Financial Aid office along with copies of the following documents:

• Drivers License, Citizenship papers or State ID card
• Birth certificate
• Copy of most recent check stub
• Unemployment notification letter
• School records
• Last filed W2 tax documents
• Social Security Card
• Rent/Mortgage receipts
• Bank Account statement (Checking/Savings)
• Trust fund or Family inheritance

To be considered eligible for the Illinois Uninsured Patient Discount, you must apply within 60 days of the date of discharge or date of service. When applying for the Illinois Uninsured Patient Discount or the MSMC Financial Assistance program, all documents listed below need to be submitted within 30 days after initiating an application. Your application will not be processed with out the required documents.
