Our Physicians

At MetroSouth Medical Center, more than 350 physicians use their expertise in 45 medical specialties to improve the health of our community. It’s a diversity of medical experience and breadth of clinical knowledge that rivals any healthcare institution in the Chicago Southland. Leading this team of physicians is Chief Medical Officer, Enrique Beckmann, MD, PhD, board-certified pathologist with 30 years of medical and executive experience.

Recent new improvements to our healthcare delivery system are helping our physician staff deliver an even greater level of care.

OB/GYN Services: We’ve added board-certified obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, neonatologists and nurse midwives to provide 24/7 in-house obstetrical and neonatal coverage.

Hospitalists: If you choose to focus your practice on outpatient medicine, on-staff intensivists can direct and provide medical care for your patients when they are admitted to the hospital.

Emergency Department: With our new electronic medical record, we’ve reduced average waiting and discharge times and improved reporting to primary care physicians.

Direct Admissions: To streamline admissions, we have added a direct admissions option to eliminate the need for patients to go through the emergency department. To use the direct admission service, call (708) 597-2000, ext. 7777 and speak with the admitting nurse who will ask for information on the patient (name, date of birth, diagnosis and social security number) and to which service you would like the patient admitted. The patient should then be directed to come to the Admitting Office located on the first floor of the hospital and to bring a photo ID and insurance card.
